President's Message - December 2017
Dear VAHRMM members,
On behalf of VAHRMM, I would like to thank each of you for participating in the 2017 VAHRMM Fall Conference and Vendor Exhibition. I hope that the conference was all you expected and more. Success of this conference is dependent on your support year after year. The best organizations and teams invest a tremendous amount of time shaping the purpose of what is needed in order to communicate to others and learn from experiences.
As leaders, we need to make sure that we create a positive environment where groups like vendors and attendees can become teams and engage to achieve better results for the supply chain world. Mentoring with one another provides a guide on how to establish a shared purpose and vision that, in turns, transforms into performance goals. Our board members of VAHRMM, are about underlining the trust that you have in us for all topics and education that we provide and hold each other accountable for the success of our conferences.
Not only do we provide education with CEU’s for all that attend the conference, but we also participate in fundraiser programs to assist those that have the most need at the time of the conference. This year VAHRMM raised $1,700.00 to benefit the hurricane victims, and 112 lbs. of food collected for the local food bank. Thank so much for your support with these endeavors.
Our membership grows every year, not only from our hospital community, but also from our biggest supporters, the vendors. Therefore, we strive to introduce to you, not only new services and products, but also new supply chain attendees. In 2017, we had 13 healthcare providers at the conference and our goal is to increase that number to benefit all groups involved. We ask that you spread the word to other hospital supply chain attendees, and assist us going viral with VAHRMM.
We had an amazing year and we are looking forward to celebrate another milestone with VAHRMM; our 35th anniversary. The celebration will take place again at The Westin Virginia Beach Town Center on October 24rd-26th of 2018. This will also mark my 5 years involvement with VAHRMM and my last year as your President. I have truly enjoyed being a part of this amazing organization. I will continue to support it, and I know that you all will also be there to celebrate with me and continue to support the organization for many more years to come.
Merry Christmas and Happy New Year to all!
Again, thank you for your continued support of VAHRMM.
