President's Message - May 2018

Dear VAHRMM members,

The weather is starting to warm up and the sun is high in the sky and we hope that everyone is having a great year so far. Our board has been very busy planning our 35th VAHRMM anniversary coming up on October 24th -26th at The Westin Virginia Beach.

We want to show you that we take to heart your suggestions and feedback when our organization requests it, so for the first time we are hosting a Networking Event for the Supply Chain Professionals along with the collaboration from our major VAHRMM supporter and sponsor Molnlycke Health Care.

The event will take place on May 31st, from 5:30-7:30 PM at the Boathouse Rockett’s Landing in Richmond, VA. We hope that our supply chain hospital attendees received the invitation and you were able to register to come and network with other professionals in the region. This event is about connecting and building long lasting relationships so that you can learn from experiences and share ideas of success and failures. Learn what each does best and be each other’s wingman.

The best organizations and teams invest a tremendous amount of time shaping the purpose of what is needed in order to communicate to others and learn from experiences.

As leaders, we need to make sure that we create a positive environment where groups like vendors and attendees can become teams and engage to achieve better results for the supply chain world. Mentoring with one another provides a guide on how to establish a shared purpose and vision that, in turns, transforms into performance goals.

Our board members of VAHRMM are about underlining the trust that you have in us for all topics and education that we provide and hold each other accountable for the success of our conferences. If you have any ideas or topics that you would like more information about, let us know so that we can provide that information for you for our 2018 conference.

Not only do we provide education with CEU’s for all that attend the conference, but we also participate in fundraiser programs to assist those that have the most need at the time of the conference. This year VAHRMM will continue with these programs so that we can assist areas where money or collection of items can have a higher impact to the community that we serve. Thank so much for your support with these endeavors.

We are having an amazing year and we are looking forward to celebrate another milestone with VAHRMM and our 35th anniversary.

Happy Summer everyone and again, thank you for your continued support of VAHRMM.

Isabel Moore
