President's Message - January 2017
Dear VAHRMM members,
On behalf of the board I would like to wish everyone a very successful 2017 and thank you for your continued support of this organization. We care about what is important to you, not only for the supply chain, but also for our vendor supporters. Because of this, in this past conference we implemented some changes based on your feedback. We encourage each of you to continue to provide us with those ideas so that collectively we can grow the organization and implement your suggestions.
This was an election year for VAHRMM and I would like to introduce you to our new President-Elect, Richard Levine. Rich is an Administrative Director of Materiel Management with Bon Scours Richmond Health System. He has been a supportive member of VAHRMM for 8 years and has been with Bon Scours for 10 years. Rich has been in the healthcare industry for 34 years and he is dynamic and invigorating which makes him a great addition to our board.
Our goals and vision for this organization are critical to the infrastructure and sustainability of VAHRMM, and necessary to strategically continue growth across the state of Virginia. We want to create stronger engagements with other healthcare providers throughout the state for continuous improvement of what we as an organization strive to accomplish. We are working on creating stronger alliances with our vendors by building after-work networking opportunities during the coming year by creating a subcommittee that can help us achieve that.
We had an amazing year and we strive to continue to grow in the years to come that will provide our clinicians with the latest information and the supply chain world with solutions that can offer a more efficient way to problem solving, performance, and implementation of new innovative ideas. In 2016 alone, our hospital membership grew by 52.1% and vendor participation grew 35.4% over the previous year. Also, VAHRMM continues to offer conference scholarship opportunities for hospital attendees.
We are in full swing preparing for our Spring Session that is taking place at Sentara Martha Jefferson Hospital in Charlottesville on May 12th 2017.
We look forward to seeing you in the spring and at the 2017 Fall Conference on October 11th to 13th at The Westin Town Center Virginia Beach.
